Primordial Saronite

This is still a good market to be in. Last night I sold the seven extra I had for 500g per and then less then an hour later picked up 10 for 425 per (seller was asking for 450). Also with these I try to avoid the AH, trade just seems to work better.

Status

I'm at roughly 7k in liquid gold and ~7k more in assets.

Made several thousand by selling 2 Thorium Brotherhood reputation packs. They typically take me 2-2.5k and sell for 4-5k. Other then that most of my income is from Pets (vendor and engineering) and from LW.

Selling Exalted!

Done a little scheming and I'm going to try to sell a collection of items to get from neutral to exalted with a faction. The current plan is to do this with the Thorium Brotherhood and the Zandalar Tribe. I'm about 50 cores and 150 Incendasour Scales away from a set for the Throium Brotherhood and am just getting started on the Zandalar set. I'm willing to wager that with the removal of ZG as a raid instance in Cata that I'll be able to make a hefty profit right before release.

Mail PvP set update

I went ahead and craft a complete set of the Sormhide armor. I honestly have no idea if they'll sell but figured I'd give it a shot. I listed them from 60-100g which would net me 20-40g depending on the item.

How I intend to make my money

Leatherworking will be my primary source of income.

Currently I try to buy Borean Leather under 14g a stack and turn 6 stacks into 1 stack of Heavy Borean Leather.

Once you get into the Heavy Borean Leather you have lots of options.

  • Heavy Borean Leather

Put these up in stacks of 1, 5, 10, 20.

  • Arctic Fur

If you are paying 14g per stack of Borean Leather then moving these at 55g will net you about 10g. Tend to be in high demand so keep them up.

  • Heavy Borean Armor Kit

I tend to be able to move several of these a day at 25-30g each. Which nets about 7-12g per.

  • Icescale Leg Armor & Frosthide Leg Armor

Be sure to keep a supply of Frozen Orbs so you can keep making these things. Also make sure you have several in the AH on raid nights. Its hard to not make a profit with these things.

  • Mammoth Mining Bag & Trapper's Traveling Pack

These tend to be my highest profit per item going anywhere from 90-150g while only costing about 35g.
People have also had success with the LW rare PvP sets. I haven't tried these yet but I can see potentially profit with some of the  Stormhide and Overcast set pieces do to there relatively low cos 35-55g. I'll try crafting a few and see what I kind of success I have.
  • Moving Backwards!

Well so far I've blown about half my gold in what I assumed was a deal. I picked up two Haunted Memento at 1250 and 2500. While I'm sure these will go for much more in cataclysm I shouldn't have sunk so much gold into them so early. Unfortunately right after my purchase the market has been rather flooded so I have been unable to move them.

Lesson: Know your market and don't over commit your funding.

    Getting started!

    Balgur from Hyjal here.

I've just recently returned to wow after a year long break. It didn't take long for me to hit 6k gold from doing dailies and randoms. I've decided I want to reach 50k for cataclysm. I figure I have roughly 90 days till cata and need to make roughly 45k gold. So I'll need to net roughly 500g a day. Hopefully I'll be able to blow this target out of the water. I hope you enjoy sharing in my successes and failures along the way.
